Three students of the Daboase Senior High Technical School at the Wassa East District in the Western Region drowned inside the Subri River(Daboase – Sekyere Krobo Road).
The incident which happened on Saturday, 24th June, 2023 was confirmed by the Authorities of the school and some residents of Daboase to Choicenewsgh According to some authorities of the school, all students went for a health walk from the new site of the school to the old site which forms part of the School’s activities and they don’t know how the said incident happened.
Also, the authorities told Choicenewsgh that, one of the students who survived from incident came to report the issue which made them call on the Police Service and the Fire Service to come to their aid for the retrieval of the remaining three left in the river.

The spokesperson of the Wassa East District Command said their office received an emergency call from the school.According to him, the call they had was that; four students who allegedly went for a swim in the river were drowned of which one survived with the remaining three left.
After some minutes, the District Chief Executive(DCE) for the area, Hon. Emmanuel Boakye arrived and upon his arrival, he called on traditional priests of the town to also help in retrieving the victims.
After about 30 minutes of the arrival of the priests with prayers and incantations, two of the three victims were found and retrieved from the Subri River with the help of some town swimmers and the Ghana National Fire Service.The Swimmers, Ghana Police Service and the National Fire Service are still in search of the remaining one.
