The formal events honoring the state funeral of the deceased former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor, are currently taking place at the front area of the State House in Accra.
The event to honor and remember began at 7 a.m. With a stately procession, establishing the atmosphere for the day’s events, it is anticipated that this will be succeeded by a funeral service at 9 a.m.
Up to this point, numerous influential figures in the realm of politics have arrived at the entrance of the State House to honor and remember the late former first lady. The individuals similar to the Vice President of Liberia, H.E. Jewel Taylor, the head of the Movement for Change political party, and Alan Kyerematen, who is a doctor, are both leaders in their respective fields.
Papa Kwesi Nduom, Ken Ofori-Atta, along with numerous others, have been observed until now. The scheduled ceremony to commemorate the respected ex-First Lady will occur at Heroes Park in Kumasi on Saturday, November 18th, adding an additional level of importance to the commemoration of a successful life. A requiem mass took place at Christ the King Catholic Church in Cantonments, Accra, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023.
The somber event united an assembly of influential individuals, government officials, members of the New Patriotic Party, and numerous loved ones, all coming together in unity to honor and show their admiration for the deceased former First Lady.
Theresa Kufuor, who got married to ex-President John Kufuor in 1962, held an esteemed position as Ghana’s First Lady from 2001 to 2009. Now, in these last funeral ceremonies, we are paying tribute to an extraordinary woman who had a significant impact on Ghana’s history, acknowledging her life and contributions.
When she passed away at 87 years old, she left a lasting legacy that is being recognized and remembered with great admiration. Theresa Kufuor’s death took place on Sunday, October 1, in her residence in Peduase, while being with her family.
