Naira Marley, a British-Nigerian musician, and Sam Larry, a well-known figure in Lagos social circles, have been released on bail by a Magistrate Court in Lagos State, with the condition of paying N20 million.
The two were required to provide three reliable guarantors as well. On October 6, 2023, Sam Larry, the artist behind the popular song ‘Marry Juana,’ along with two other individuals, were brought to court and detained due to their involvement in the death of singer MohBad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba.
The defendants were instructed by the court’s magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun,to hand in their passports and were also told to regularly visit the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti. Olatunbosun stated in her decision that the defendants must give up their passports and attend the State Criminal Investigation Department on a weekly basis, as a requirement for their bail.
Additionally, she gave a cautionary statement, advising against any direct communication with her regarding the matter. She warned: “Any efforts to communicate with me directly will be documented and possibly revealed during public court hearings.”
