The Accra High Court has rejected the lawsuit brought by Deborah Seyram Adablah against a former bank Chief Finance officer on grounds of sexual harassment.
Today (Nov 28), the Court, led by Justice John Bosco Nabarese, declared that while the relationship between the two individuals was considered immoral and did not align with societal acceptance, there were no valid grounds for legal action. The court expressed that it should not be asked to approve or endorse a relationship that is based on an immoral act, stating that one cannot seek compensation for something that was obtained through immoral means.
The person taking legal action has been fined with a sum of GH¢10,000. The decision was made following a request from the bank’s ex-Chief Finance Officer to the court to dismiss Adablah’s case.
