A retired pastor in Kasoa, a suburb in the Central Region of Ghana, was tragically killed when a taxi driving at high speed collided with him.
The occurrence took place at Krispo City in Kasoa, specifically in the Awutu Senya East Municipality, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM. Joseph Kwaku Koranteng, who was a retired pastor of the Apostolic Church of Ghana in Gomoa Nyanyano, has passed away at the age of 70. He was on his way to the Mother and Child Hospital to measure his blood pressure when the unfortunate incident happened as he was crossing the Kasoa-Winneba Highway.
According to people who were present, the taxi was driving at a high speed and tragically hit and fatally injured the former pastor. The consequences were significant, and the pastor passed away immediately. The police took the body to the morgue at the Mother and Child Hospital for preservation.
The taxi driver has been taken into custody and is presently assisting the police in their inquiry. The authorities are currently investigating the reason behind the accident and deciding whether or not the driver will face any legal consequences.
