Approximately eight years ago, the NPP was financially depleted while it was in the opposition. The organization created a Mobile Money (MOMO) account and asked its members and supporters to give small contributions for the party’s campaign activities.
The elections were won by the party and they established the current government promising to prioritize tackling corruption as a key focus of their campaign.
Currently, there seem to be individuals within the party and government who have acquired substantial wealth to the extent that they have lost sight of our situation eight years ago.
These individuals are now using large amounts of money to sway voters in internal party elections and ensure that their preferred candidate wins. Professor Frimpong Boateng said.
