Ghanaian-Romanian musician, Deborah Vanessa Owusu-Bonsu, widely recognized as Sister Deborah, has announced that she is temporarily abstaining from entering into romantic partnerships due to numerous instances of emotional pain and disappointment.
Explaining her reasons for not wanting to engage in another relationship, the popular ‘Ama Piano’ artist expressed her desire to avoid being romantically involved with any other man due to the numerous emotional traumas she has experienced in her life.
In a recent interview on Okay FM in Accra, the singer stated that she is the one who is susceptible and at a disadvantage in every relationship she enters.
Regrettably, the men she encounters exploit this vulnerability and mistreat her. According to her, she puts in a lot of effort in her friendships but rarely receives much in return. “At any time I’m in a romantic relationship, I wholeheartedly devote myself to making the person feel special.” I consistently prioritize the well-being and desires of the individuals I care about over my own personal desires and interests.
I exert all my energy and allocate all my resources into a relationship, leading to exhaustion and a decline in my overall pace. She expressed her disinterest when she realized that the affection was not reciprocated.
