The ex-president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwasi Nyantakyi, has revealed that he did not claim to have influence over President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s decisions and selection choices.
This is a reply to a claim made by the acclaimed investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas in his documentary titled ‘Number 12’. The response states that the allegation is entirely untrue. Kwesi Nyantakyi expressed these views during a conversation on Starr Chart with Bola Ray, discussing the contentious documentary released by Anas in 2018 which resulted in his football ban.
“I did not claim that President Akufo-Addo was under my control,” Nyantakyi declared. You witness the dissemination of persuasive messages for manipulation. I did not make that statement. He claims that he had talks related to business with people who identified as investors and were keen on constructing a refinery worth $2 billion in Ghana, and he didn’t find any issue with connecting them with politicians.
