Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has asked authorities to arrest former Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Dapaah, in connection with a one million dollar theft scandal.
Shatta also expressed his frustration with the state of the music industry and the country’s political landscape.
In a recent Instagram live video, Shatta Wale raised his voice against what he perceives as a lack of accountability and transparency within Ghana’s political system.
He pointed to the recent scandal involving Cecilia Dapaah, where the attention seemed to be on the house helps who allegedly stole the money, rather than on the minister herself for having such a substantial amount in her house.
“Look at our politicians, they aren’t studying politics they’re studying the foolishness of Ghanaians. That is why the sanitation minister can have a million dollars stolen from her house and everyone is talking about the house help who stole the money rather than asking why the minister has 1 million dollars in her house,” he stated.
Shatta Wale’s remarks come in the wake of revelations about a significant sum of money (1 million dollars, 300,000 Euros) and other valuables stolen from the residence of former Minister of Sanitation, Madam Cecilia Dapaah by two house helps. The incident has triggered public outrage and prompted further investigations into various accounts associated with the minister. His sentiments echo the frustrations of many citizens who feel that their voices are not being heard and their concerns are not being adequately addressed by those in power.
