Efya, whose birth name is Jane Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, has openly discussed the significance of collaborating with other artists. During an interview, the singer known as ‘Super Super’ expressed that her preferred collaborations are the ones she has done with renowned rapper Sarkodie.
She proceeded to mention that out of the more than 120 musicians she has worked with, none were as difficult as the rapper known as ‘Better Day. During an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy Fm’s Showbiz A-Z, the renowned singer/songwriter revealed that he has collaborated with nearly 120 artists. However, he mentioned that his experience working with Sarkodie on various projects proved to be the most demanding.
The vocalist, who has collaborated with Sarkodie on tracks like “I’m in Love with You”, Akwaboah’s “Hold Me Down”, and Bisa K’s songs… Dei, along with others, stated on X (formerly Twitter) that artists who had not put out any songs featuring her in the past three years should either re-record their tracks or not release them at all.
The composer believes that as time goes on, artists continuously become better at their craft. As a result, songs that were created around three years ago should be reworked and adjusted to align with the current preferences of music listeners. Efya further explained that with each passing year, new trends and elements emerge in music, making it essential for songs to evolve and not remain fixated on the past.
