Drama as New Force spokesperson is re-arrested for repatriation after prosecutors dropped charges

Shalimar Abbuissi, the spokesperson for the New Force, no longer has permission to reside in Ghana as the Ghana Immigration Service has canceled their residency permit.

According to the Immigration Service, she is scheduled to be sent back to her home country later today. Shalimar Abuissi, who initially appeared in the campaign video of the group, is facing charges for supposedly acquiring a student residency permit through dishonest statements. Earlier in the day, the charges against her were dismissed by the state prosecutor.

The court also ordered the National Investigations Bureau to set Ms. free. Abuissi’s iPhone 13 Pro was taken away when she was apprehended, but no evidence of wrongdoing was discovered after a detailed examination. However, the individual referred to as Ms. Abuissi was taken into custody again by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) outside of the courthouse.

As a result of this, there was a sudden outbreak of disorder that ensued between her attorneys and the immigration officials who had arrived to take her away. According to the Immigration Service, she is currently residing in Ghana without legal authorization, hence, she will be sent back to her home country later today.

The woman with the title Ms. Abuissi’s parents were in tears as their daughter was taken away in a vehicle by the Immigration Service.The woman named Ms. The New Forces’ press release on December 7 highlighted Abbiusi’s recent legal conflicts, which have given rise to significant worries regarding the misuse of authority, targeting of individuals seen as political rivals, and numerous breaches of human rights.
