Ampem Darkoa Ladies, the current champions of the Ghana Women’s Premier League, will be competing against AS FAR, the current champions of Africa, in Group B of the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The tournament will take place in Cote d’Ivoire from November 5 to 19, 2023. The Ghanaian champions will compete against Huracanes from Equatorial Guinea and AS Mande from Mali in the eight-team competition.
The draw in Abidjan last Monday resulted in Ivorian team Atletico FC Abidjan being placed in a challenging group alongside Mamelodi Sundowns, a prominent South African team, Sporting Club Casablanca, and JKT Queens, a Tanzanian side.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies secured a spot in the continental tournament by emerging victorious in the CAF Champions League WAFU Zone B qualifier.

During their path to the final, Ampem Darkoa, a team known for their high-scoring abilities, achieved impressive wins against Amis Du Monde with a score of 4-2, Athletico Abidjan with a score of 3-1, and Sam Nelly FC with a score of 6-1.
Ampem Darkoa, who have never participated before, will be making their debut in the African Champions League, which is currently in its third year since the initial competition took place in 2021.
In the first edition, Hassacas Ladies, a team from Ghana, were defeated in the final by the reigning champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.
