Argentinean football icon Angel Di Mara, affectionately known as “El Fideo,” has retired from the Argentina national team as a Copa America champion.
With a legacy filled with both triumphs and heartbreaks, Di Mara leaves the Albiceleste, capping off a remarkable 16-year international career with back-to-back continental titles.
“It was my dream to retire from the national team like this. Argentina is my love and my country. Thank you,” Di Mara expressed in his farewell message.
The decisive moment came in the 113th minute when Golden Boot winner Lautaro Martnez scored, securing La Albiceleste’s second consecutive Copa America title after a grueling, physical match at Hard Rock Stadium.
