According to Romano, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount in a deal worth up to £60million.
United had a third bid worth £55m rejected last week but have now agreed to pay an initial fee of £55m plus £5m in difficult add-ons.
Mount has been given permission to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms, with the clubs set to put the finishing touches to paperwork.
United had warned Chelsea that they would not go above their improved £55m offer and were considering alternatives, with the west London club making a counter-proposal of £58m plus £7m in add-ons.But talks between the clubs appear to have finally yielded a positive conclusion for all parties.
