A woman from Ghana who resides in the United States faced charges when her young son was discovered walking alone on the street in Woodbridge on New Year’s Day. The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) stated that on January Someone discovered an 8-year-old child walking by himself on the road, wearing minimal clothing.

Authorities reported that he was located on Minnieville Road close to Cardinal Drive. An individual took the boy and brought him into their vehicle, attempting to locate his residence before alerting the nearby police officers about the situation. Police officers arrived in the vicinity shortly before 2:10 p.m. The boy’s residence was located, and it was revealed that his mother, Olivia Matu Osei, aged 35, was unaware of her child’s departure from their home.

The authorities confirmed that the child was examined for injuries and found to be unharmed prior to being released to individuals known to the authorities. Matu was taken into custody and accused of committing a serious offense related to neglecting a child.
